Medicaid Prescription Drug Limits: What You Need To Know

The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals is now requiring some people who get more than four Medicaid prescriptions in a month to get Medicaid prior approval for some of their prescriptions. These limits DO NOT APPLY to people who are under 21 or to pregnant women, or to residents of nursing homes or group homes (ICF-DD’s). This does not mean that Medicaid recipients can only get four prescriptions paid for by Medicaid in a month. Find out more about obtaining additional prescriptions in this article.

CLASS ACTION FILED TO STOP CUTS IN HOME CARE

Seeking to prevent nearly 11,000 low-income people with severe disabilities from losing services and being institutionalized in nursing facilities, the Advocacy Center yesterday filed a class action lawsuit against the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) and its Secretary, on behalf of four people who receive Medicaid-funded personal care services.
