Response to Intervention (RTI) Cannot be Used to Delay or Deny an Evaluation for IDEA ELIGIBILITY!!!!!

Once a parent makes a request for an evaluation, if there is reason to suspect a disability, an evaluation should occur.

Tenacity and knowledge of the law always a winning combo

Joey, a six year old student with autism and intellectual disabilities was clearly not receiving sufficient supports in the classroom - he had a "D" average, was regressing educationally and emotionally, began to display tantrum-like behaviors, and wandered off and roamed the campus on a regular basis.
