Congress Begins Repeal Process of Affordable Care Act

On January 4, 2016, Republicans in Congress introduced a budget resolution that included instructions to repeal major parts of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). This will affect hundreds of thousands of people in our state, as 1 in 5 Louisianans get their medical coverage through the ACA. 375,614 Louisianans who are enrolled in Medicaid Expansion will lose health coverage if the ACA is repealed.

AC Empowerment Academy Holds Graduation for Class of 2016

On December 3, 2016, the Advocacy Center of Louisiana held a graduation ceremony for its first Empowerment Academy class. 6 students were recognized for their achievements in finishing the 6-month Academy.
